First trip to London and wanted the Pub experience. And did we ever get it. Just around the corner from our hotel, the Bayswater Arms just a block or two from either the Hilton or Doubletree (where we stayed). Got in before the rush. And there was a rush. Ordered the Steak and Ale Pie, one with chips and one for my wife with chips. As I went to the bar to order I told the server that I wanted a pint, but I wasn’t really a drinker. She poured samples of 4 or 5 for me to try. Great service. I picked a pale ale by Camden and it was smooths Ann somewhat fruity…I am NO beer expert. The food was great and I particularly liked the gravy that came with the meal. I could drink it in a cup! This seems to be a real local pub with all the ambiance you’d expect. And great food with super service. Try it!

I went there for a quick dinner. The place was busy with many people enjoying their pints or watching sports. I was served quickly by a nice a welcoming member of staff. Food was a classic English meal and quite tasty. I am often in this area while travelling for work and this place offers a welcoming and comforting space to unwind after a busy day.

Stopped for a bite to eat and a quick drink. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Accepted cash which I found hard at other pubs. Food was nice and is set in a good location on the Queensway.

Classic British pub interior decor, big windows, convenient and easily accessible from the underground stations, huge tourist footfall in this area, however ... ... we were disappointed with the meal. Yorkshire pudding - dry, tasteless, burnt crispy top rather than freshly cook crisp. Couple of slices of sirloin steak. Green beans - raw. Steak and ale pie - not much meat in there, green beans raw. Verdict: it would appear meals were prepared for visiting tourists who will dine for experience, never to come back. The thing is, we are not tourists, but will never come back based on this experience. Another sad thing is, we cannot even recommend the pub to visiting guests. This is a British pub, although has walls and ceiling ... felt like we were dining in the middle of a farm, where staff don't seem interested to have a quick chit chat with customers, but more interested to have chit chat amongst themselves. Do remember body language speaks louder than words. Sorry folks, you need to do better to make your paying customers feel valued. The real British hospitality if you don't mind ... please?
